There are two ways you can remove an attribute from a set using rules. The method you use depends on how you originally added the attribute:

A. Using a Remove action

If you added a single attribute with a rule, and now need to remove it for the current case, then simply select the attribute and use the right-click menu to build a rule to remove that attribute.

B. Using a Not in Set action

Alternatively, if you added a set attribute or a group attribute with a rule, and now need to remove one of the included attributes for the current case, but not the whole set or group attribute, then the procedure is a bit different.

  1. Select the Not in set folder.
  2. Use the right-click menu Add to build a rule to add the attribute under this folder.

This will effectively “blacklist” this attribute from the set, that is, the attribute will be excluded from the set no matter how it was added originally.

Furthermore, the attribute will be removed even if it is in the set for more than one reason, e.g, if it is included in more than one set or group attribute.
