This type of question presents a list of options to the Intelligent Forms user. Each option is associated with a value. The user selects one of the options and the corresponding value is inserted into the case.

If you specify that the question is “mandatory”, the Intelligent Forms user will be forced to select an option.

In setting up a Combo Box Question, you define a list of options, each of which consists of two parts, separated by a comma:

  • the value that is to be inserted into the case if that option is selected, and
  • the description that is shown for this option in the Intelligent Forms.

You don’t have to supply a description, in which case the value is used also as the description.

For example, if you specify the following options:

    spindle, Spindle SCC
    acantholytic, Acantholytic SCC
    verrucous, Verrucous SCC
    horn, SCC with horn formation

then the descriptions shown to the Intelligent Forms user will be:

    Spindle SCC
    Acantholytic SCC
    Verrucous SCC
    SCC with horn formation

and the value inserted into the case if the third option is selected is “verrucous”.
