The Scan Worklist is a RippleDown client application used to manage the set of patient data sent to the RippleDown server for the generation of interpretive reports.

The patient data consists of the following:

  • densitometer scan results
  • patient registration details
  • clinical history including technican notes.

The Scan Worklist coordinates the gathering of the patient data, and schedules a patient to the densitometer. The main screen shows in tabular form the status of all patients currently due to be scanned, or who have recently been scanned and are awaiting the interpretive report.

The information shown for each patient on the worklist table is as follows:

  • Patient Identification – Surname, Given names, DOB (date of birth), Gender,
  • Time – The time when the patient was entered on the worklist,
  • Reg’n – A flag indicating whether the patient’s registration details have been entered,,
  • Machine – The densitometer used to scan the patient,
  • Results – The types of scan performed (e.g. Lumbar Spine and Right Femur),
  • History – A flag indicating whether the patient’s clinical history has been entered,
  • Report – A flag indicating whether the patient’s report has been approved.

The steps normally taken for each patient are:

1. Adding a patient to the worklist

2. Entering registration details

3. Scheduling a scan

4. Reception of scan results

5. Entering clinical history

6. Approving the interpretive report

7. Removing the patient from the worklist.

By default, patients are shown on the worklist in the time order, that is, with the newly added patients at the top of the worklist. You can however sort the worklist in any order by clicking on the corresponding heading. For example, to see all patients from a given densitometer grouped together, click on the Machine heading.
