When adding a pattern of keywords to a Derived Pattern, we need to specify a string of pattern keywords to be matched. Additionally, there is a place for an example of text that matches the pattern of keywords:

The Pattern of keywords “metal $ nonmetal” from the screen shot above, means that the string to match is composed of a metal, following by a price (the ‘$’ sign), following by a non-metal. If you have a close look at the string Since 01OCT 07 copper costs AUD 1234 more than carbon. It actually matches these pattern of keywords:

If the example provided does not match with the pattern of keywords, this is pointed out, and the changes to the pattern will not be able to be saved. You will either need to change the pattern or change the example. The conversion of the example text to keywords is shown, so that the problem can be found:
