A Result Overwrite Conclusion is a Knowledge Base output that is used to send a message to the Online Information System instructing that system to overwrite the value of
an attribute with another given value. You can open the Result Overwrite Conclusion editor from the Windows | Result Overwrite menu.

Note: this functionality is only supported by some Online Information Systems. Contact PKS for more information.

Edit Result Overwrite Conclusions

Add  new result overwrite conclusion

  • Select the parent folder where you want to add the new rule. If this is the first result overwrite action, just select the root node.
  • Right-click the selected parent folder and select the menu item Add result overwrite on current episode…
  • The standard Rule Wizard dialog will appear
  • Follow the instructions given on the first wizard screen to overwrite the value of an attribute
  • Follow the subsequent Rule Wizard steps to add the new rule

Organise result overwrite conclusion using folders

You can use folders to organise overwrite conclusions.

  • Select the parent folder where you want to add the new folder. If there are no other folders, just select the root node.
  • Right-click the selected parent folder and select the menu item Add folder…
  • Enter the name of the desired folder. Note that names are unique when adding a new folder.

Once the new folder has been created, you can:

  • Drag and drop existing result overwrite actions or other folders inside this folder.
  • Create new result overwrite actions or sub-folders inside this folder.

Disable a result overwrite conclusion using rules

To disable an existing result overwrite conclusion using rules from the current case (and therefore similar incoming cases):

  • Select a result overwrite conclusion and right-click on it.
  • Select the menu item Disable…
  • Follow the Rule Wizard steps to add the new rule that will disable the result overwrite action.

Tip: If the item you disable is a folder, all the result overwrite conclusions inside the folder will be automatically disabled. Similarly, enabling a disabled folder will enable all its children.

Replace a result overwrite conclusion by another one using rules

Use this functionality when you want to replace an existing result overwrite action by another one.

  • Select result overwrite conclusion and right-click on it.
  • Select the menu item Replace…
  • Follow the Rule Wizard steps to replace the selected result overwrite action by another one.

Search for cases giving a particular result overwrite conclusion

Use this functionality when you want to search for cases on any case list which satisfy the selected result overwrite:

  • Select a result overwrite conclusion and right-click on it.
  • Select the menu item Search for cases…
  • The Search for cases dialog will appear.
  • Follow the instructions and launch the search.
  • Any case giving the selected result overwrite will appear on the search case list.

See the conditions that give a result overwrite conclusion on the current case

To see what are the conditions which enable or disable a result overwrite:

  • Select a result overwrite conclusion (or folder) and right-click on it.
  • Select the menu item Show conditions…
  • A dialog will appear showing you the conditions that enable or disable the selected result overwrite conclusion or folder.
