When you are reviewing a case and you make a correction to the report before approving it, the corrected report is released to the Online Information System. It is important  to note that the Knowledge Base itself has not changed, only the report for that one case.

What this means is that if another similar case is queued to the Validator, it will be given the original report by the Knowledge Base, not the corrected report. This means that  you may have to make the same correction to many cases before you approve them. This will keep happening until the Knowledge Builder user changes the Knowledge Base so that the corrected report is given automatically.

When does the Knowledge Base get corrected?

Whenever you correct a report before approving it, a copy of the case and the corrected interpretation is sent to the ‘Rejected‘ queue on the Knowledge Builder, together with  any notes that you have provided about this case. When the Knowledge Builder user is reviewing your case on the ‘Rejected‘ queue, if they agree with your correction they will add rules to the Knowledge Base to ensure that the correct report is automatically given for subsequent cases.
