PKS provides an optional and licence-free plug-in jar that implements the Garvan Institute Bone Fracture Risk Calculator.

To use this calculator:

  1. Request the file FractureRisk.jar from PKS Support. It is provided free to PKS customers.
  2. Copy the file to the plugins folder on your RippleDown server installation.
  3. In your Knowledge Base, create four Plug-in attributes corresponding to the following calculations.
    • 5 year risk of hip fracture
    • 10 year risk of hip fracture
    • 5 year risk of any fracture
    • 10 year risk of any fracture
  4. The Plug-in Attributes can now be used in rule conditions, or used to define further Calculated Value Attributes.
