A scan can be scheduled for a patient once the patient has been added to the Scan worklist (see “Adding a patient to the worklist“) and once the patient’s registration details have been filled out (see “Registering a patient“).
To schedule a scan, select the patient on the scan worklist using the mouse or arrow key, then click the ‘Scan’ button. The relevant patient details will be sent to the densitometer (the one specified in the Registration form).
Note: If the densitometer is not available (e.g. temporarily disconnected from the network), a warning dialog will appear. Your IT support staff may then need to be contacted.
Once the scan request has been accepted by the densitometer, the “Machine” status of the patient on the Scan worklist will show the densitometer name.
The next step is for the scan to be performed by the densitometer Technician, who will then send the scan results sent to RippleDown via HL7.
